Our experience: Getting a Kazakhstan visa in Bishkek was actually a surprisingly stress-free experience with the only drawback being the fact you must wait 1 week to pick it up. Finding the embassy can be a little bit of a struggle as it is located some way south of the city centre but by using the bus.kg app it is quite easy to reach.
We woke up early and headed to the Kazakh embassy where we made our applications. The usual forms were completed and we gave them to a very friendly guy behind a glass window. He explained that we must take a bus to a bank to pay for the visa and then return with the receipt in the afternoon. He even tried to help us in English and by showing us a map where we had to go.
We followed another guy out of the embassy (as we thought he would be going to the same place) to the bus stop. The bus stop is on the corner of Manas & Akhunbayev and you can take marshrutka #200. We the went to the bank (136 Yusup Abdrahmanov Street) and paid. No problems at all but make sure you have dollars.
We then returned to the embassy, gave in the receipt and our friendly man told us they would be ready in a week.
We milled around Bishkek, drinking coffee and finally went to pick up our visas at 6 p.m. a week later.
