Travel Photography Competition – week 107
Hello everyone and welcome to the 107th edition of our popular weekly Travel Photography Competition! This week we are looking at the photos posted on our Facebook page between 6th and 13th September.
The first winner this week is a gorgeous autumn photo taken north of Cochrane in Alberta, Canada. Cochrane, which is located only 30 km west from Calgary, is the second largest town in Alberta. The town is situated in the Bow River Valley and is a popular destination for enthusiasts of wind-sports, golfing, hiking and other adventure activities.
In second position we have a stunning image of Durdle Door on the Jurassic Coast in the county of Dorset, England, UK. The door is a natural limestone arch, formed by the erosive powers of the sea and has existed for over 140 million years. You can learn more about the formation of this spectacular geological phenomenon on the Jurassic Coast official website.
This beautiful sunset photo was sent by Mirek Valasek – Photography. Follow Mirek’s Facebook page for more examples of his talent!
And in third position we have a photo taken at twilight on Tocha Beach in the district of Coimbra, Portugal. This traditional fishermen’s village has become a popular travel destination due to its beautiful golden sands and stunning (and protected) dunes that surround it. It has, however, still retained its traditional identity and you can find there traditional stilt platforms where fishermen keep their tools and equipment.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this week’s edition of the competition, either by sending or by voting for the pictures! We wish you a nice end of the weekend!
