Travel Photography Competition – week 104
In first position this week we’ve got a stunning photo taken by Oldevatnet lake, located in the municipality of Stryn, in Sogn og Fjordane country, Norway. The lake is 12 km long and lies in the stunning Oldedalen valley.
The second winning photo shows the Assumption of Mary Church, located on the stunning lake Bled in Slovenia. The church was built in the 17th century and hosts some Gothic frescos from the 15th century. Lake Bled, located in the Julian Alps, is arguable the most popular tourist destination in the country, which we also highly recommend. Check out other Slovenia absolute must destinations.
And the last winning photo this week was taken on the charming Grand Canal, Venice, Italy. On the banks of the Grand Canal, which forms one of the busiest water traffic corridors in the city, you will find over 170 buildings, most of which date back to the 13th-18th century.
I find that there are only two types of people in the world: the ones that love Venice and the ones that hate it. Which one are you?
This lovely shot, which reminded us of our last year’s holiday, was sent by Tara Bruton which has also contributed a backpacking story to HitchHikersHandbook. Check out her blog travelgeektara.com and her Facebook page travelgeektara for more wonderful travel inspiration.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this week’s edition of the competition, either by sending or by voting for the pictures! We wish you nice end of the week!
