Travel Photography Competition – week 102

Hello everyone and welcome to the 102nd edition of our popular weekly Travel Photography Competition! This week we are looking at the photos posted on our Facebook page between 1st and 8th August.

In first position this week, we’ve got a beautiful photo taken in Groningen, Netherlands, which is a university town and the largest city in the north of the country. In the 13th century it was an important trading hub and a member of the Hanseatic League.

The second winning photo this week shows Fuciade mountain shelter amid a sea of flowers in Trentino in the Italian Dolomites. The Dolomites are a mountain range located in the north-east of the country and they form part of the Southern Limestone Alps. The highest peak is Marmolada which rises to the elevation of 3,343 m (10,968 ft). The Dolimites have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009.

And the last gorgeous photo, that scored many of your likes this week, shows the Laguna Santa Cruz and Pan de Azucar peaks located in El Cocuy National Park, Colombia. The park is situated in the Andes, in the Department of Boyacá and is a popular hiking and rock climbing destination.
