Travel Photography Competition – week 99
This week’s competition have been slightly delayed due to our recent hitchhiking tripette to our friends’ wedding, during which our access to the web has been hugely limited. You will be able to read about our experience soon, but I can tell you now that hitchhiking with a suit and a massive wedding gift is not at all impossible… :)
So let’s have a look at the three stunning winners in this week’s competition and we hope these lovely photos will be a source of inspiration to you for your upcoming trips.
The first gorgeous photo was taken by Moraine Lake in Banff National Park, Canada a glacially-fed lake that is located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of 1,885 m (6,183 feet).
Banff is the oldest National Park of the Rocky Mountains and it comprises numerous glaciers, ice fields, thick pine forests and stunning alpine landscapes. The entry fees vary between $3.90 and $9.80 (student/adult). For more information, visit the Park’s official website.
In second position this week we have a lovely photo taken in the Menara gardens in Marrakesh, Morocco with the stunning Atlas Mountains in the background. The gardens were established in the 12th century by Abd al-Mu’min and the pavilion, from which the name of the gardens derives, was built in the 16th century during the Saadi dynasty rule.
Marrakesh is the 4th largest city in the country and the most important of Morocco’s four former imperial cities. Its old town has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This lovely photo was sent by Chanel Koehl, a very talented and versatile photographer, and the winner of our Travel Photography Competition of the Year! For more samples of his talent, check out his website, his Facebook page and read our interview in which he talks about what it takes to become a world-renowned, competition-winning photographer.
And in third position this week we have a wonderful beach photo taken in Jastrzębia Góra, Poland. Jastrzębia Góra, which forms the northern part of the city of Władysławowo, is located on the Baltic Sea coast in Kashubia in the Eastern Pomerania region and is a popular local holiday destination with 15 stunning sand beaches and access to The Polish Coastal Landscape Park and other smaller nature reserves.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this week’s edition of the competition, either by sending or by voting for the pictures! We wish you nice end of the week!
