Travel Photography Competition – week 82

Enrico Fossati - Hochosterwitz Castle Austria

Hello everyone and welcome to the 82nd edition of our popular weekly Travel Photography Competition! This week we are looking at the photos posted on our Facebook page between 9th and 16th March.

In first position this week we have this lovely atmospheric picture taken at Ria de Aveiro, Portugal. It’s a lagoon located on the Atlantic coast, south of the municipality of Espinho. This 45-kilometre-long lagoon is one of Europe’s last remaining untouched coastal marshland and is home to many species of birds.

The second winner in this week’s competition shows Hochosterwitz Castle which is perched on a 160 metre (520 ft) high Dolomite rock near Sankt Georgen am Längsee, in the state of Carinthia, Austria. It was first mentioned in 860 and it’s considered one of Austria’s most impressive medieval castles. The entrance fee to the castle is €12 and it can be visited from 13th April until the end of October. For more information, visit the official website.
