Travel Photography Competition – week 15
Hello to everyone and welcome once again to our Travel Photography Competition. Over the last two weeks we have had a fantastic response to our little competition, with more and more of you sharing your wonderful photos via our Facebook page. The aim of this competition is to give people an opportunity to show off their skills and inspire us through the bleak winter months. You have responded magnificently, so without further ado, let us share with you our three winners for this week.
The first winning photo was taken in Porto Germeno, Greece by Vagelis Pikoulas, a photographer well known to anyone who regularly follows our competition. To see more of Vagelis’ photos, visit our Travel Photography Contributions week 7, week 10, week 11, week 13 and week 14 or subscribe to his Facebook profile for more stunning shots.
The second winning shot shows Yorkshire Wheel in York, United Kingdom. This 54 metres tall wheel, erected in 2006, was inspired by its much bigger brother – the London Eye (measuring 135 metres).
The photo was taken by George Hodan who is a versatile photographer and whose “right hand is a Nikon D 5100”. You can view and download his photos for free from a public domain website and if you really appreciate his work, you can buy him a cup of coffee.
And the last winner in this week’s selection shows the beautiful Californian sand dunes. This lovely photo was sent by Ernie (E Photography) who is an amateur photographer and says that the wonderful thing he enjoys about photography is that “we have the ability to record something that will never be seen again”. Very true! You can view and buy Ernie’s work here.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this week’s edition of the competition, either by sending or by voting for the pictures! We wish you nice end of the weekend!
