Travel Photography Competition – week 11
It’s time to show you the winning photos of the 11th edition of our Travel Photography competition. Every week we give you a chance to show off your photographic talent, promote your work and inspire others to travel to all these beautiful places. This month we got lots of new faces on our Facebook page and we were able to see photos from other parts of the world.
This week we present to you a selection of travel shots that were sent to us between 22nd and 29th August. Enjoy!
The first winning shot was taken at Porto Germeno, Greece. It’s a resort area located on the western side of the Attica prefecture. The area is covered with pine and olive trees and offers views of the Gulf of Corinth. Apart from that, you can see a fortress nearby, dating back to the 3rd century BC (one of the best-preserved ancient castles in Greece), a basilica, a monastery and a church which is still in use.
Porto Germeno is also one of the most photographed places by our regular contributor Vagelis Pikoulas, who also won our Travel Photography Contributions week 7 and week 10. Vagelis is a Greek photographer specialising mostly in picturesque and dreamlike seaside shots. Although he doesn’t have a Facebook page, we highly recommend subscribing to his Facebook profile for more stunning shots.
The second winning picture was taken at Ericeira, Portugal. It’s a seaside resort and a fishing community on the western coast of the country, about 35 kilometres northwest of Lisbon. It is a popular destination for local and foreign tourists, as well as amateur surfers. I’m not surprised as the beach looks stunning!
This lovely holiday photo was sent by Marco Ramos, a photographer based in Germany and Portugal. As he says about himself: “Traveling and Photography is my life. And I love my life.” This is the kind of spirit we really appreciate! Marco also won our Travel Photography Contributions week 6. Visit his Facebook Page Marco Ramos – Photography for more great travel shots!
And the last photo in this week’s selection was taken in Dieulefit, a commune in southeastern France whose name means”God made it”. Let’s not get into theological disputes but the place truly looks like paradise!
What are Travel Photography Contribution Weeks?
Each week we publish the three pictures which got the most “likes” on our Facebook page giving the photographers the credit they deserve. The competition has a 3-4 week delay so that the pictures sent later in a week will have an equal chance to get the same amount of “likes” as the ones sent at the beginning.
Visit our Travel Photography page to see all the previous winning photos!
If your pictures are among this week’s selection, feel free to link to our website and tell your friends about it.
If you would like to participate in the selections, post your best TRAVEL shots on our Facebook page with their location clearly indicated.
Keep sending your photos and travel safe!
